HANDYTRAC LAUNCHES GENERATION NINE OF ITS

LEADING KEY MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL SYSTEM

Software Enhancements Allow Key Randomization

BRADENTON, FL ., April, 2002 – HandyTrac, the leading key management and control system in the multi-housing industry, announced today that it has launched Generation Nine of its computerized key management system.

HandyTrac's new Generation 9 Key Control System automatically rotates the location of the keys within the cabinet. When a key is returned, it is randomly rotated to different locations inside the cabinet.

While the HandyTrac system contained security features such as bar coded keys and login/password, HandyTrac developed the randomization function as an added security feature for the property and maintenance manager. In prior renditions, the onboard computer would instruct the manager to place the key on a certain peg, which was always the home peg for that certain bar coded key, when returning the key in the cabinet. Now, the computer will rotate the key to an open peg somewhere else in the cabinet. The new function makes it impossible for an employee to memorize key locations for particular rooms and secured areas.

“With our ‘Generation Nine product, we accomplished a major task,” stated John Lie-Nielsen, chief executive officer, HandyTrac. “We addressed the ongoing needs of our current customers who wanted our system to randomize key locations. We are able to offer a more complete computerized key control solution than ever before.”

HandyTrac's Generation 9 gives authorized personnel a choice of reports that include activities (such as preventive maintenance) sorted by employee; all keys out at the time at which the report is run; or all key transactions for a given period sorted by activity (for example, all apartments that received preventive maintenance in the previous month).

HandyTrac Systems, Inc. is a leading supplier of computerized key control systems to the multi-housing industry. The company has regional service / training centers in Atlanta, Dallas and Bradenton, FL with additional centers in Phoenix, Chicago, San Francisco and Washington planned.
